Hope everyone is staying healthy, today i recieved an email with an opinion letter from our state association lawyer. In the letter it talks about mandating Covid vaccines for firefighters. The Summary is that most Texas cities home rule ones (which our is) can mandate that you get a covid-19 vaccine. I have not heard any talks of this happening in our department but i can only assume if the numbers keep rising they will try to mandate anything they can.

Just to reiterate this is from our state association lawyers and they are on our side. Sometimes legal opinions are not to our desired outcome.
